The Killigans needed a design for their new album, their 9th full-length album, and their first to be released on vinyl. I listened to the final mix for several days and read the lyrics to pick up themes. Overall, the tone of the album is a little bleak, full of discontent and dissatisfaction, and a healthy amount of us-against-them sentiment.
I sketched up a variety of thumbnails which I sent to the band to talk over. They selected two concepts to move forward into design, after which they selected the TV test-pattern concept. I used a variety of assets to create the final artwork in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, resizing the artwork for the CD as well.
